Abstracts: Submission guidelines

General

  • Authors may submit abstracts for oral and poster presentation or report case for the ECBIP 2023 AEER
  • The link to submit abstracts will be given on this page as soon as abstract submission opens.
  • Authors must be registered to attend the event.
  • As they submit an abstract, authors have to be aware that they must register to the congress if they have an abstract accepted, and be onsite in case of oral presentation.

Topics

Abstracts must be in the areas of:

  • Interventional pulmonology
  • Pleural diseases
  • Tracheobronchology
  • Thoracic surgery
  • Lung cancer

Evaluation

  • Abstract submissions will be reviewed by the Abstracts Review Committee for acceptance.
  • Abstract acceptance notifications will be sent to authors by email no later than early April 2023.

Oral comunication

  • The presentation must be in Power Point format.
  • The length should have a maximum of 6-7 slides.
  • The maximum presentation time is 4 minutes.

Poster Presentation

  • The presentation must be in Pdf format.
  • Technical characteristics to upload the e-poster: A4 vertically.
  • The maximum presentation time is 2 minutes.

Publication

  • Accepted abstracts will be published in the scientific and online programs of the 27th ECBIP 2023 AEER
  • Accepted abstracts will be sent by email and published on the APP for congress attendees

Length, style, and formatting

  • Abstracts should have a clear hypothesis and methodology, list all author names and institutions, and designate a corresponding author.
  • The body of text can be a maximum of 300 words and cannot include figure nor table.
  • Abstracts should be written in a structured format and include: Title, Authors names, Authors affiliations, Background, Methods, Results, and Conclusion.
  • Case reports are also acceptable and should be identified as such on the submission form. Case reports should be structured as follows: Title, Authors names, Authors affiliations, Background, Case report, and Conclusion.
  • The abstracts title should begin with a capital letter followed by lower case lettering.

Originality and linguistic accuracy

  • Abstracts must contain original data, be free of plagiarism, and be written and submitted in English
  • The linguistic accuracy of the abstract is the responsibility of the authors.

Disclosure of funding source(s)

  • Abstracts must provide the funding source (industry name, grant name, or other applicable funding) if one exists.
  • Commercial names, trade names and company brands should not be mentioned in the abstract title; however, they may be mentioned in the body of text.
  • Abstracts containing elements that might lead to patient identification shall be disqualified.

Copyrights

  • Authors are required to write an original abstract that fulfills accepted criteria for copyright purposes.
  • By submitting an abstract, all authors attest that the abstract submitted has not been previously published elsewhere and transfers, assigns, or otherwise conveys all copyright ownership, including any and all rights incidental thereto, exclusively to WABIP.
  • If an author chooses to submit information from an abstract that has previously been presented and/or published, all data must be updated, current, and rewritten in a manner that does not infringe on international copyright laws. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to include any copyrighted material in their abstract presentations. All authors will be required to agree to a copyright assignment statement when submitting an abstract.
